Warner says next year they're picking up on the catalog titles. I'll believe it when I see it, but here's what I know
THX 1138 (Warner)(Robert Duvall)- I bet this would be as much in Lucas' hands as anyone

Jeff - you say, "Warner says next year they're picking up on the catalog titles." I have been trying for a week to track down the source of this rumor. Can you back this up? Where did you hear it, from another thread? (No one making these claims in the other threads has yet responded to my challenge to produce evidence).

Good list Norm, I would buy 15 of the titles you listed if they came out on DVD.
And I would buy all of the titles on Craig's list too.

I second Time After Time. I also would like to see some of my guilty pleasures:
Police Academy Parts 2-7
Daffy Duck's Quackbusters
Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation
Yes, they're cheesy, but I love 'em. :)
I'd also like to see Warner revisit the Vacations, and atleast put them in anamorphic widescreen. I've always seen them in Pan & Scan, and would absolutely love them in WS. I guess it's possible they could re-release them in 2003 to coincide with the first one's 20th aniversery, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. :)

I'd be more hopeful about WB returning to catalog titles if I had a better idea what their definition is of catalog titles....if it means only going back to 1970, I'm none too pleased. If however they announce a special Winnie Lightner Vitaphone set, then I figure they're ready to take their catalog seriously again.

Warner, when will you release a season by season box set of FRIENDS for region 1? Many people including me are dying to have this funny show on DVD and some are even buying the the other region ones. Please do us a huge favor and release them!!

Ivan: are there English language editions of these web sites?

I think they are in French language only--is there anything specific on them that I could help you with?
The DVDs that I have listed in my previous message all contain English soundtracks with removable French subtitles and sometimes (but not always) a French sountrack too.

IVAN: I am interested in ordering several of the RKO titles, such as Sindbad Le Marin (Sinbad the Sailor) and La Chose d'un Autre Monde (The Thing From Another World). I can order these more easily from Amazon/France than from other sites, as I have an account, but what is the approx. exchange rate of 106,59 FF / Eur. 16,25? Is shipping a huge expense? Finally, although you say the RKO titles have English tracks and optional subtitles, are the written credits in English or French? Thanks for any help.

Rumor mill has it that WB is 'pondering' the idea of
3-D versions of "Dial M for Murder" and "House of Wax",
with a standard 'flat' versions to be included as well.

First of all, forgive me if I ask the obvious, but you are aware of the fact that these DVDs are in the European PAL tv system and are not compatible with American NTSC tv sets unless you have a dual system player/tv set (or do the viewing on your PC in which case it doesn't matter)?

1 USD is about 1.13 Euros (€), so €16,25 works out to about $14.
However, as far as I can see, Amazon.fr currently doesn't have "The Thing" in stock--it may be just a temporary situation (happens occassionally), because other on line stores (www.dvdfr.com for example) seem to have it, although with a price of €22. The DVD is definitely available because I've seen it in stores here (ie, it's not OOP or anything like that).

Shipping with amazon.fr to the US:
[*]Standard $7 per package+$1.7 per item (10-12 days)[*]Express $13 per package+$1.7 per item (1-5 days)[/list]To answer your other question, the credits are in English.

I.
