Help with me JVC GR-DVM55 Digital Camcorder (1 Viewer)

Alright, I just picked up a the JVC Digital Camcorder yesterday. I can get it run into my TV perfectly fine, but when I try to run it into my computer to take the snapshots off of the tape (this model takes the pictures onto the tape, not a memory card) I get nothing. I can't get any video to transfer to my comp. either. This is the only place that I figured I may be able to get some help. www.jvcservice.com is horrible. Any help would be appreciated. What kind of computer do you have? How big is your hard drives? How much RAM? What kind of firewire card? Is anything X'd out in the Device manager? Do you have the camera in "Play" mode? What software are you using to capture with?
