Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!

* Best Buy is discounting 10% off of all DVD Collector Sets. "Sale limited to in-stock items. Selection varies by store. No rainchecks." This is directly applicable to Friends Season 1, and so you should take the price in the Roundup and figure in that discount. This ought to also apply to Thunderbirds and Avengers, and perhaps to Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (depends on whether the register person will agree that it is a "collectors set"; sometimes the box design is the deciding factor).

* Best Buy will take $8 instantly if you buy all three of these on the same purchase: Ali, Not Another Teen Movie, and Jerry Maguire Special Edition. Don't want all three? Not to worry: If you buy any two of those three titles on the same purchase, you can still save $5 instantly.

* Target has Not Another Teen Movie for just $16.99, Spider-Man: The Ultimate Villian Showdown for $14.99, and Ali is a "Low Price".

* K-Mart has Ali and Not Another Teen Movie for $19.95. Spider-Man: Ultimate Villian Showdown is the same $14.95 as it is everywhere else, PLUS you get a free 2-liter bottle of Dr. Pepper or Diet Dr. Pepper. Are you a pepper? Posted Image

Excellent job. Premium price on Friends Season 1 from Warner Brothers, but I'll likely grab it to encourage more such releases.

Randy,
How does the $10 off for the MSN free trial work? And how do you get in on this offer? I am also assuming this is a 30 day free trial of the internet service. Details on this deal would be great. Thanks.

eric, one of the employees had a notebook in the dvd section, and he told me about the offer.

the way it works is they sign you up for a free 30 day trial. then they give you $10 off of a purchase. it can be $2 off up to 5 DVDs or $10 off of one.

I guess they are not supposed to combine it with the 10% discount on collector sets, but i talked my guy in to hooking me up with the double bonus.

Yet another week without anything I want to purchase. However, next week is going to have a ton, and there are things every week for a while. I'm saving my money furiously, and very much looking forward to next week's update. Posted Image

Kinda redundant now but I did post elsewhere at the time - BB had the latest Thunderbirds sets (that are "officically" released 4/30) on the shelves two weeks ago.

Not to speak for George, but there are several intriguing titles for May 7:

Star Trek: TNG Season 2
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Old Yeller
Pollyanna
Swiss Family Robinson
The Parent Trap
Blood Simple
Ripping Friends

See, I was thinking "TNG & 3/4 Vault Disney"; O-11 had slipped my mind, and I'm not sure if I even knew about Blood simple!

I woulda found it when I did the Roundup, though! Posted Image

Hmm...it looks like Jerry Maguire and Not Another Teen Movie (grossly sick and funny) for me.

David, I had no idea you did this round-up! Thanks a lot, man! I could have been checking here for a long time! Now I know that CC has NATM for cheapest!
I'm not gonna be getting Trek and Friends like most of y'all, but I'm waiting for the Memento Special Edition.
Have you ever heard of Vietnam, Larry?
