Toy Story 2 just began on ABC. They had the typical disclaimer before it saying "This film has been modified from its original version..." yada yada. It said it had been edited to run in the time alotted, but also that it had been EDITED FOR CONTENT.
What "content" do you need to edit from a "G" rated movie? Or should I expect some minor elements to be missing because this is airing during Disney's hyper-family-friendly 7pm slot?

Sometimes content is edited simply to make a film fit its alloted time slot (including commercials), instead of the presence of "offensive" scenes. Maybe that's what happened.

Yeah, when Slinky talks about his "good bottom", that's real r-rated stuff.

Exactly what I was thinking.
My comments on this stupidity could be edited for content, but I'll never understand why the movie wou...Oh, yeah, we need commercial time and we need to promote the newest Disney project. It all makes sense now. :puke:

My point had to do with the fact that these disclaimers separate the notations for "edited for time" and "edited for content." Some have one but not the other.

I think they just used the standard title card for showing movies. Toy Story 2 is a G-rated film. Appropriate for even the most conservative audience :)

Well the part where Buzz's wings pop out at the end could be deemed sexual to the censors.

Never underestimate the ability of fundamentalists to be offended. Remember, these are people who think The Wizard of Oz is satanic and needs to be banned cause it has witches in it.
Anyway, if you go to the CAP website http://www.capalert.com/

They cut the outtakes to remove Stinky Pete's fart and the bit with him talking to the two Barbie dolls in his box...

I checked out the site. I can't believe it, they gave Toy Story 2 a yellow rating, which one above the mildest rating. Talk about intolerance.

Capalert is good only for a laugh.

The part with Stinky Pete in the box picking up the two Barbies is not in the theatrical version though is it? I think that part is a classic. Very funny.

Oh wow...now this is crazy...
I can hardly believe that Toy Story 2 would be edited for content. I would just think it would be edited to fit the time slot.
I can't even watch films on television anymore. They are butchered by commercial interruption, *BUGS*, and editing of content. Plus their the P&S versions always.
After seeing a movie in P&S and then watching it in Widescreen, I almost always laugh...it's SO much better seeing all instead of seeing the editor move the damn screen!

LOL that cap site is funny.
Here is what they say of "Iron Monkey"
"[Iron Monkey] is an okay 'Saturday night at the movies' movie for the whole family"
This is a movie that had some very over the top violent fighting and they used a woman as a human sheild and then kicked her away like a rag doll.
What a joke.
