Okay, I know that there have been threads current and past comparing the size of your collections, the way that you store them, calculating the money you've spent and WILL spend in the future, and other things about DVD's...but I wanna play something along the size of DVD Survivor.

I recently hit the wall thinking about the number of DVD's I had as compared to how many I really watched/loved and how many hadn't been seen/were bought cause I "had to have it".

So, if you were forced to play DVD Survivor and had to cut down your collection, what would you keep. Here are the rules, people with less than 500 DVD's can only keep EIGHT TITLES!!! People with over 500 DVD's can only keep FIFTEEN TITLES!!!

Small Print: Box sets count as one title IF they are a true boxset (ala Godfather, Simpsons, etc.) but collections of titles in seperate cases (Jurassic Park box, etc.) count as individual titles.

Feel free to list them. Personally, since I'm in the lower catagory, here are my 8 Titles:

1.) Unbreakable Vista Series

2.) The Usual Suspects: Special Edition

3.) The Terminator: Special Edition

4.) Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season One

5.) Escape From New York

6.) Halloween: Limited Edition

7.) Monty Python & the Holy Grail: Special Edition

8.) Clue

who's next???

Wow, just eight, huh? Well, let's see...
1) Gladiator - definitely my fav
The rest, in no particular order:
2) Godfather Collection - over 10 hours of entertainment and it only costs me 1 slot :)
3) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - the shootout scene at the end alone would be worth it
4) Ghost in the Shell - just friggin' awesome
5) The Princess Bride - "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya..."
6) Clue - "I'm going home to sleep with my wife!"
7) Amadeus - love the music; great dark story, too
8) [this slot saved for LOTR:FOTR]

Are you nuts? I couldn't even pick just 8 titles from my collection of WOODY ALLEN movies.

And I only have 350-400 discs.

Heh. I never thought I would *only* have 300 DVDs.

To answer you David, yes. Although I might have to reconsider once I have LoTR in my hands. :)
Ok, after taking another look at my collection, I'd like to change no.3 to Evil Dead: Book of the Dead.

Here are the ones that get the most spins in the ol' DVD player:

1) Rushmore : Criterion

2) Fight Club

3) The Big Lebowski

4) Clue

5) Pitch Black

6) Big Trouble in Little China : 5 Star

7) Zero Effect

8) Toy Story : Ultimate Toybox Edition

Not the best films in the collection, but the only other three closest were Tremors, The Thing, and various versions of the Usual Suspects.
