are there any multi chanel audio discs thatdo not require a special player like dvd a or sacd? Just wondering because i was listening to the "studio voodoo" demo on my sound and vision setup disc and It was encoded in dts.

A majority of the DVD audio titles released so far also include a Dolby Digital 5 channel mix for playback on standard DVD players. Some also include 5 channel DTS mixes as well. You really have to check the specs on the jacket of each disc to be sure, though. These mixes are of course, lower resolution than the DVD audio version but can still sound impressive.
