Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, "A box office era comes to an end as the final installment in the wildly successful 'Hunger Games' franchise enjoyed a phenomenal global debut as 'Mockingjay, Part 2' posted an opening weekend of $247 million worldwide as it launched in 87 international markets plus North America on over 32,500 screens, the biggest day-and-date release of the year, and Lionsgate's widest release ever.
