Need some assistance with figuring out hardware problem for audio/video upgrade (1 Viewer)

So I'm getting ready to purchase a new Sony 65 inch XBR65X850C 4K 3D television. Currently I have a Panasonic Plasma but is only 42 inch and really am wanting to upgrade size, etc. I'm also going to need to purchased a 3D blu-ray player as my current player isn't 3D. I'm going to just purchase an inexpensive 1080P 3D player as I know that we are just waiting on the 4K Blu-ray players, and I want my new Sony's 4K X1 Processor to do all of my upconversion.


My problem is, I still use, and still love my Onkyo TX-SR805 A/V Receiver that only offers HDMI1.3 I use it as pass-thru only and do not use any video conversion in the receiver, but my understanding is that since it is 1.3, it will not pass through the 1.4 3D signal, much less of course the 4K signal once I have that available. So I've been looking on Monoprice, and have discovered this little device. If I hooked my Blu-Ray player up to this device, and sent one HDMI to my A/V receiver, and the other to my TV, would that solve my problem? I could still get the lossless TrueHD and DTS-HD signal my receiver can process, and also then wouldn't I be able to receive the 3D signal through the other cable? Monoprice is trying to tell me it wouldn't work as it's designed only for two displays. But that really doesn't make sense to me. What am I missing? If this won't work, do I have any options?

I didn't realize you could actually buy Blu-ray players with dual HDMI outputs. Perhaps going this route would be better?
