I'm very surprised no one has yet posted anything about Longmire Season 4 on Netflix available now.

This is one show I ALWAYS enjoyed and looked forward to when it was suddenly cancelled. Now, Netflix has brought it back in all its glory and I am very excited to see the new season. So far, I have watched almost half of them and I can say they pick up right where they left off and the show is every bit as good as the past 3 seasons.

I just hope everyone will post a note to Facebook and Twitter for Netflix thanking them for saving this great show and the nice job they have done. Make sure not to forget the old # tags we used when starting the petition to save the show as well.

It seems that companies like Netflix are the future for shows like this, as there is certainly an audience and Netflix knows it.

"Longmire" on cable was a show that hit broadcast level numbers of total viewers, but the audience skewed too old to hit the required numbers in the advertiser-desired demographics. Since Netflix is subscriber-driven rather than advertiser-driven, they don't care what the demographics of the audience is, as long as they plop down their monthly subscriber fee. That changes the definition of a hit substantially.

I am eager to dig in to the 4th season, but I have been waist-deep in work that I just haven't had the time (or been awake enough) to do it. I hope to start it this week. I am eager to see where this season goes and am enormously thankful that Netflix has kept the series going!

That's only partly true, as A&E just said it skewed older as an excuse for dumping the show. What they claimed was because of the older audience, they weren't able to advertise to a younger demographic which meant more money. However, that was totally debunked because financial statistics show those age 55 and up spend a LOT more money than younger demographics. The population in the US is growing older and therefore advertisers are actually seeking them out. Younger people have house payments, college loans, kids, etc. that take away the disposable income.

This was pointed out in an EW column when the show was cancelled as was the social media accounts for some of the show actors. The REAL reason is they did not have FULL control of the show and wanted more money or else they were going to drop it, which they did. Turns out it was the best thing that could've happened for them and I'm sure it won't be the only show to do so.

Damn - I don't know how I missed this. I shall start watching Season 4 asap. Damn good show.

Regards,

I almost missed it too; just saw something on the internet less than a week ago that it was available.

Almost halfway through the season and hope that Netflix orders more.

I hope that Netflix "promotes" this much more along the lines of say "Orange Is The New Black" or "House Of Cards" otherwise it may become self defeating - that would be such a shame for this show.

I'm half way though the Season 4 and loving it - hasn't missed a beat in it's transition to Netflix. Hope they keep them coming!

Anyone know if they will put it out on DVD or BR after the season is over?
I'm sure Warner Archive will put out a Blu-ray of the new season after a respectable amount of time just like they did with the first three seasons.

On Netflix the season is officially "over" on release day. :)

I recently finished season 4. I definitely liked it better than Season 3 since I didn't care much for the Branch storyline.

It's still the same great show. Just a different network.

Still no official word on a season 5 - fans, or the 'posse' have been asked to use #Longmire5 and tag Netflix's official account to draw attention.

Ally Walker did seem pretty confident in a Vogue interview that series would be renewed and that her character would be back.

I'm pretty sure there will be a season 5. I don't think Netflix would have gone through all the trouble of picking up the series for only one season.

Now that I finished season 4 I'd have to say it was the weakest of the seasons, the plot was all over the place, the hector and deputy side plots , and the awful ally walker romance terrible. Let's hope season 5 is better
