I know we are still quite some time away from season 4 starting, but the new Season 4 trailer deserves its own thread:

To recap the Season 4 news from the Season 3 thread:

I'm looking forward to it, and as much I did enjoy the third season, it was pretty bleak. Hoping they find the balance. Stephen Amell is a big part of the show's success; when the show is over, hopefully many years from now, Amell should have the same sort of roles offered to him that we see Chris Pratt getting now.

Good trailer - liked everything in it except the indication that Det. Lance is still in bitter putz mode.

Seeing Diggle, Laurel and Speedy all teamed up in the beginning gave off a cheesy (hard to believe or suspend disbelief) vibe. Oliver's needed to coalesce all the heroes now, even if he wanted to simply fade away into the sunset with Felicity.

So... who eats it in time for February sweeps? :D :D :D

I thought the premiere was great - it definitely had that lighter tone, as promised, and it worked nicely. Of course, we're all going to be scratching our heads wondering whose grave that was, and it turns out the producers don't even know.

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/10/07/arrow-season-4-spoilers-death-grave

“It’s not a fake-out,” Guggenheim says of whomever is in that grave — though it sounds like the identity of said person is still up in the air. “We don’t necessarily know who it is right now,” Mericle says. “We’re still figuring the plan out for the season, but we wanted to have resonance. If it doesn’t mean something to the characters, it won’t mean anything to the audience either.”

Really, it could be almost anyone. Of course, there will be outrage and disgust if it is Felicity, and that would betray the lighter tone that's been promised for the season. Oliver and she deserve to be happy at the end of the season.

Lastly, as much as I like this show (and this looks like another strong year for it), how is it that the federal government hasn't taken over Star City yet? With disaster after disaster and now with no leadership, this is the kind of place that has National Guard troops on every corner.

Of course, given the Lazarus Pit, whoever is in the grave might not be there for long.

I enjoyed the premiere. The pace was breezy fun, particuarly the return to the upbeat, quip-y Felicity and getting back to the team dynamic.

I was worried that they were just going to paper over Captain Lance's dark turn at the end of the last season, but the reveal that he was in bed with the devil allayed my concerns.

Glad to see Thea showing some undesirable side effects from the Lazarus Pit. Anything that can bring people back from the dead has to have serious consequences, or death no longer has any meaning.

Neal McDonough was phenomenal as Damien Darhk. His performance reminded me a lot of his run as Quarles on "Justified", except with the unstable streak replaced with confident competence and dark mysticism. Can't wait to see where the character goes.

Diggle's helmet looked ridiculous, but less ridiculous than in the promo photos.

I did have to laugh a bit at Oliver's big inspiration message to the city, ending with the reveal that he wasn't the Arrow, he was the Green Arrow. If you follow the comics, it's a big moment to have him finally go by his name from the comics. But within the context of the show, it just sounds like an unimaginative knockoff of the original.

Hal Jordan cameo. :D

Plus Ivy Town was mention. In the comics it was Ray Palmer(Atom) home town.

Lord, that thing is terrible. I didn't pass judgment in the first scene he was in...I waited until the end of the show. And then I made my decision. No, it has to go.

I really loved the Felicity/Oliver stuff at the beginning of the episode. Part of me wanted the two of them to stay away from Star City for a little while longer, to really let us get adjusted to their new lives without the action. But then it wouldn't be Arrow, right?

Never ever thought I'd say this, but the show doesn't feel "right" with Ray after last season...

I've been watching the show since the beginning and I'm not really feeling it after episode one. I'm not sure if the show (or me) just needs time to settle into a new dynamic but the changes between Oliver and Diggle and Laurel as part of the team are elements that aren't working for me. Hanging around for now, but this has moved down on my viewing priorities.

BTW, I predict that the grave contains the remains of John Diggle. I think his character makes the most sense considering how the strain of their relationship as it currently stands will play into Oliver's feelings of remorse and perhaps guilt, assuming that they do not have a reconciliation this season.

Thea was already resurrected, so it seems too soon to be taking that kind of step again with her character.

Killing Felicity would probably provoke an en masse exodus of fans from the show.

It could be Laurel, but in her new role on the show I doubt it.

Oliver probably would be sad but not too broken up by the death of Captain Lance.

It could be someone they haven't introduced yet, but I'm not sure that would carry the emotional weight the show is probably attempting to evoke.

For some reason, I thought Captain Lance is the most obvious suspect. But that didn't make sense at all, considering Barry showed up to offer condolenses. To me, it almost has to be Felicity or John...why else would Barry be coming to the funeral (albeit late)? Outside chance of Laurel, almost no chance of Thea, in my eyes anyway.

I saw an article with one of the producers. Saying even they are not 100% sure who is in the grave. Also, they are going to explain why after Thea and Sara they can't use the Lazarus Pit.

I watched it with my wife this weekend. After he announced that he is now the Green Arrow, I turned to my wife and said, "Now at some point Felicity has to die since GA ends up with the Black Canary. Then the next scene we see the grave. I assumed it was Felicity. But I guess not....?
