Glad they're making another Jason Bourne film; disappointed that Greengrass is directing again.

Well, he did direct the last two Jason Bourne films and I enjoyed them both.

Producer Frank Marshall, shared picture of first day principle photography 8 years since last Bourne film. New Bourne arrives in 2016.

They have to use the Extreme ways Moby music its so synonymous with Jason Bourne films for the end credits.

The Bourne: Legacy wasn't bad in that at least it gave an idea into how the other agents lived and were dealt with in reference to the black ops program(s) they were involved in....I just couldn't see Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) being a pill-popping warrior though....skilled in deadly martial arts (kali escrima, etc.,), fit due to work outs I can see but a pill-popper....I just couldn't make the connection in that sense....Jeremy Renner makes an excellent alternative to Matt Damon in my opinion....good that they didn't use some other unbelievable flunkie....

I am looking forward to seeing the new Jason Bourne movie in a theater. I am also hoping that it will be released on 4K UHD blu-ray. I also am hoping that the Borrne series ends up on 4K UHD as the last format I purchased the trilogy on was HD-DVD. And I have been wanting it on HD blu-ray but since getting my Samsung 4K UHD blu-ray player this series might as well be on that format.

In preparation for this upcoming Bourne film, I just watched the first three films. It had been awhile but they are just as excellent as the first time I watched them.

I'm about halfway through Legacy and so far it seems to be a direct to video film. I think Ed Norton phoned it in on this one. And what the hell did Rachel Weisz do to herself? Is she trying to be Julia Roberts? But back to the movie, it's an interesting concept, but not very good pacing. Maybe the second half will be better.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Matt Damon in the role again. As another aside though, it was weird when the first one started seeing how young he looked. It's like when you're aging with someone, you don't really notice the changes, until you start looking at photos from a few years ago.

Caught this tonight - completely unnecessary sequel because the last one with Damon had such finality that the story that brings Damon back can't help but feel contrived. The reveals of more of Bourne's past here don't have any of the same impact and although Cassel is great, his character feels the most contrived.

That said it is also hugely enjoyable and probably the best of the summer sequels I have seen bar Civil War. The film is pretty relentless once it begins, the action sequences are all typical Bourne yet still involving and tense (it's that damn music that makes Bourne walking through a door seems exciting :) ) and Damon is great. Alicia Vikander is the best new addition and I can see this doing really well.

It's also slightly more open ended than the last no doubt in case they want to do more and of course you have to end with that familiar Moby track.

All in all I can forgive it's unnecessary storyline for being such and entertaining action film - it's good to have Bourne back.
8/10

I'll be there at the first showing on Friday morning. I disagree with Simon about being it being an unnecessary sequel as I wanted another Bourne film with Damon as soon as the last one came out on Blu-ray. I love these Bourne films!

Travis I didn't find the shaky cam to be too bad - I always thought Supremacy was the worst culprit and Ultimatum was a lot easier - this seems even more controlled though obviously the action sequences are shot in a similar way

Robert I meant unnecessary in that the film's story never truly convinces that there is really more worthwhile to tell about Bourne but it's still a great film to watch so I'm sure you will enjoy especially if you like the others :)

The final setting seemed a little foreign given Bourne films have always had such an international flavor. Seeing him in Vegas driving a Dodge Charger just seemed rather Un Bourne.

And I'm not sure an armored SWAT vehicle would have the ability to plow through stationary cars like that.

Those are just a couple things that took me out of the movie. I thought exploring why Bourne would volunteer for Treadstone was a decent premise, if a bit uninspired.

Saw this tonight in Melbourne. A very well constructed action movie, although I wish there could have been more dialogue and a few less car chases. Very quick cutting in many scenes made me feel a little uncomfortable- may have been the result of being only four rows from the screen in a very full cinema. As usual Matt Damon was believable and I enjoyed the performance of Tommy Lee Jones (one of my favourite actors). A good film to see on a cinema screen.

Loved it! Plan on seeing it again. With that said,
I'm sad about Nicky Parsons.
Jason Bourne is one of my favorite film characters.

Any other thoughts about the shakycam? I've seen 2 Greengrass movies theatrically - "Supremacy" and "United 93" and both made me googly in the moogly!

I said I'd never see another Greengrass movie theatrically but if I hear enough comments that this one is MUCH calmer than the others, I'll go!
