Looks great. I loved the movie so looking forward to getting lost in the wasteland. Anyone else planning on getting this?

I've learned long ago that previews don't mean much. I've been led astray too many times.

My copy's on its way. I'm not expecting it to match my Fury Road love, but I like the character and his world, so I'm on board to get a couple of weeks' worth of post-apocalyptic fun.

Just got a GREAT review from IGN.

8.4

Snippet: Mad Max is a juxtaposition of exciting, thrilling fun set in a world of disgusting, primal depravity – like a singing telegram informing you of a death in the family, or an ice-cream cake with your terminal test results written in frosting. It’s a conflicting place of despair, a personal playground of explosive action and compulsive, unending progression that I can’t wait to get back to, and one hell of a ride.

I do. Different types of games. I got MGSV today too but am more excited to play Mad Max.

And I don't care how it sells as long as I like it. I'm sure we all feel the same way about games in regards to reviews. Different strokes.

I know, my comment was more about how it was a poor idea to release what appears to be a relatively weak game on the same day as an excellently-reviewed game in a gigantic franchise.

Kotaku's review is up: http://kotaku.com/mad-max-the-kotaku-review-1727995776

"A little more than 10 years ago, not long after I quit my job to become a freelance writer, a colleague warned me that sometimes the work could be grueling and unrewarding. “I want to talk to you when you’re writing a story only for money,” he said. It took a decade, but I finally found that assignment: reviewing Mad Max for Kotaku. I never would have finished this game if someone wasn’t paying me to do so. If this were Thunderdome, I would have let Mad Max win."

Ok Morgan. I get it. Not your cup of tea. Feel free to keep posting negative reviews. I started this thread to see if anyone else was excited to get it and you have been thread crapping imo ever since. MGSV is waiting for you. No worries. Carry on. [emoji1]

Yeah, I'm a few hours in so far, and really enjoying it. I get where the reviews are coming from, certainly- we'll see if I'm enjoying the punch-loot-drive-repeat gameplay twenty hours or more of gameplay later- but as stated before, I love all things Max, so I suspect I'll be more than satisfied based on my experience so far.

Gameplay and its structure reminds me quite a bit of the Batman Arkham games, though admittedly not as deeply polished as that series. I think a few months from now this game will get a second look from a some folks when they're done with MGSV and Destiny: The Taken King (the latter of which will be competing for my own gaming time in Mad Max's Big White.)

I don't know about that. A few months from now, people will be playing Halo 5, Fallout 4, Call of Duty, etc.

I'm not suggesting that it's going to be some sort of comeback kid and do huge numbers. I'm just observing that this is possibly the type of game that people wait for a price drop on, and down the line (in the afterglow of the big holiday season releases) some people will give it a chance. And for gamers like me who are only interested in one of those three games you mentioned, that time might come sooner :)

But if not, it doesn't really matter to me. While it has its flaws, I'm enjoying it and (so far) feel like I'm getting my money's worth, and that's ultimately all I care about.

I really wanted to get this but my budget is pretty tight. I had to choose between this, and Until Dawn. A friend picked it up for his X Box One, and will bring it over tomorrow to show me what it is like, so at least I will get to play a little of it :)
