I used to pride myself on being able to pick out uncredited voice over actors (Dick Tufeld on Judd, John Anderson on Dragnet 60's, etc) but this one stumps me. For all you guys that are more expert than I here is my question. Has plagued me for years. Multi part.

1) Who is the MAIN voice over actor who did the announcing for the 70's QM shows? (Streets, Cannon, Barnaby,) or were there multiple persons. One voice stand out to me though.

2) Was their a different actor who did the 60's shows? (Fugitive, Untouchables, FBI, etc). I know Bill Conrad did the narration on The Fugitive but I'm talking about the voice that introduced the guest stars and title.

3) When this style was parodied later on Police Squad (...and Rex Hamilton as President Lincoln), was it the same 70's voice guy from the original shows that parodied his own style?

Thanks much.

If I had the time, Id love to put together a master list of uncredited voiceovers from major series and commercials. Maybe a project for the future.

Dick Wesson did the announcing on the earlier QM shows, beginning with The New Breed, followed by The Fugitive,12 O' Clock High, and The Invaders. Hank Simms did all the rest, from The FBI, through Barnaby Jones. Les Lampson was heard on The Untouchables, John Stephenson on Dragnet 60s. BTW, Simms also announced on Police Squad.

Thanks for the correction on John Stephenson. John Anderson was someone I knew from a job. My memory is staring to fail me. LOL

it was Hank Simms on Cannon, Dick Wesson did the announcing of the guest stars on The Invaders, then after that series ended its run, Wesson was no longer needed by QM and Simms was the sole announcer.
