About time! :)

I agree...been waiting for this a long time (still awaiting the second AMERICAN TAIL film). James Horner's score is delightful, using a variation of a theme used in JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN to great effect. I find the animation and the voice work to be quite accomplished. Now the debate begins...what will the aspect ration be, and what should it be? It's been 1.33:1 on all video releases before.

I'm sure the aspect ratio will be widescreen like the other Don Bluth Blurays (American Tail, Secret of NIMH), but I would wish they included the full screen version too, which is the one I prefer for these films, since they show more picture.

This one always left me cold, even as a child, although it was hard to escape the merchandising blitz. A few of these managed to come live at our house...

Not any comments about this release, I don't know why.
Anyway, I just wanted to confirm my previous notion from the screenshots.

Watched the whole bluray the other day and I think it's the best transfer of a hand-drawn animation on Bluray I've ever seen!
Trully remarkable with beautifully resolved grain and detail which allows you to see the brush strokes changing etc.
I can't think what changed in 1,5 years between the release of American Tail and this (other people in charge of restorations?), but I just wish they remastered the former too for its anniversary this year, to look like The Land before time does!
I admit, as a film, I prefer American Tail while The Land before time feels a bit weak to me..
But anyway, I'm so incredibly happy with this release!

They didn't happen to discover the uncut version of this one, with it included here as a bonus? Don Bluth was forced to cut 10 minutes out of this before its theatrical release and the story has it that these pieces were destroyed.
