Nice packaging - I especially like the booklet.

Presumably though, this is just a repackaging of the 2012 50th set, minus the pointless 'bonus' disc, and with Skyfall's disc art now matching the others...

I have to agree that the packaging looks quite nice and far more shelf-friendly. Fortunately I have all the Bonds I want, so I'll pass.
Agree. I am quite happy with the Bond 50 set I got for $99 during an Amazon sale a few years ago. Until they do a new remastered set, I'll stick with it.

Since this will be "updated" just prior to or just after every new film, I don't see the point of buying anymore "ultimate collections" until the series finally ends. I really hate having pretty boxed sets and then separate individual films that came after. It defeats the purpose. I have half of the films on BD individually. I try to snap up others as I can for cheap.

It's nice that it comes with Digital HD. Supposedly it also comes with the excellent documentary Everything or Nothing, and if this set got crazy cheap I would be tempted to buy it just for that. However, I'm not sure how many people are going to order it for $299 when the previous set still sells for $125...

They are also releasing some nice looking steelbooks but only for the 6 films that feature Spectre...

I think it's possible these will be reissued with new transfers in the not too distant future. I mentioned this in another thread, but I caught a recent screening of The Man with the Golden Gun and the DCP was sourced from a master superior to that of the blu-ray - much more filmlike with natural looking grain levels.

If they did new transfers I would buy!!!

I'll stick with the bond 50 set for now...

So.....
Roger Moore made 7 bond films.
There are 2 roger Moore sets.
Both are priced at $29.99 each??
That doesn't make any sense!!
I wonder how they split them?

Finally a half decent offering of The Roger Moore Collections and they finally got the Pierce Brosnan Collection right.

I went with the actor sets when building my James Bond library but until this offering, good luck finding the Roger Moore sets.

Still considering scrapping my current hodgepodge and buying either this Ultimate Collection or if a nice deal pops up on the 50th Anniversary Set

Maybe for the Moore sets they will divide the spy who loved me across 2 sets? Part 1 on set 1 and part 2 on set 2. Do a batman 66 cliffhanger!!! : )

I like how 007.com makes mention of the fact that the steelbooks are of the films the feature Spectre and yet they leave out Dr. No which introduces the organization (Dr. No is even mention as an agent in one of the steelbooked films)...
Ha! Great point!

Exactly! The first thing that came into my mind when drooling over the steelbooks. Dr. No is one of my three desert island discs. (Got to meet Connery and Ursula Andress on separate occasions. Brief one-on-ones in the mid-seventies and early eighties respectively).

BOND COLLECTIBLES WITH NEW SPECIAL FEATURES RELEASED AHEAD OF UPCOMING 24th JAMES BOND ADVENTURE, SPECTRE

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 15, 2015) – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM) and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are releasing special edition Blu-rays, DVDs and collectible box-sets on September 15th, ahead of the November 6th global release of SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond adventure.

Two new featurettes are included based on interviews with renowned Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. “The Shadow of SPECTRE” concentrates on the history of SPECTRE, the fictional global criminal syndicate and terrorist organization. The second featurette, “The Story So Far”, recaps and relives the significant moments from the previous three Daniel Craig Bond films.

Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbooks headline the new home entertainment offering for Bond fans. The collectible set includes six films featuring the SPECTRE organization (From Russia With Love, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, For Your Eyes Only) and the three recent Daniel Craig titles (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall) each featuring packaging inspired by the films’ iconic opening title sequences.

The Ultimate James Bond Collection features all 23 iconic Bond films together in one Blu-ray box-set, which includes a 24th space for SPECTRE and, for the first time, digital copies of the collection. Also included is a new bonus disc exclusive featuring “Everything or Nothing”, a 90-minute documentary on the untold story of 007 and a pocket-sized James Bond 50 Years of Movie Posters book including the best posters from Dr No through to SPECTRE. This collection will be exclusively available at Amazon.com.

Dedicated Actor Packs with new packaging will also be released on Blu-ray & DVD.
