It should be heard but not seen. Hidden away nearly in a media closet to keep the WAF high, this beast would be driving speakers to their limits to provide an all out immersive experience.

This would make a difference to my home theater system because I would test my films' final mixes with it.

Let's see...dual PSA XS15se's, 3 Martin Logan SLM XL's for the LCR, and 8 Noble Fidelity surrounds all across the ceiling and walls. We'll put the Gunman in the Oppo and light up the Aquos 4k. That should compliment the NR1030 perfectly... Hey, that's my system! What are we waiting for??!! :D

In my newly renovated home, I have a "mancave" and the Dolby Atmos receiver and set up would make it un-leavable! Since the "mancave" is relativeily new, installing ceiling speakers and a few extra surrounds and another subwoofer perhaps would complement my existing 5.1 system. My NHT speakers are already awesome so I won't need to upgrade those!

I've already got a dedicated building for my media center where I can crank it up as loud as we want. Wondering if my shake roof can handle the Dolby Atmos speakers and sound when I mount them to the rafters!

I'd love to have a capable receiver after losing my last Onkyo/Integra to a thunderstorm. :(
I'm using a cheaper Onkyo in the mean time, but it's not exactly feature laden.
I experienced Dolby Atmos for the first time last month in a theater while watching Mad Max: Fury Road and was blown away!
I've got the speakers, now I just need the POWER!

Real simple, a receiver cable of Atmos will drown out the noises my family makes so I can watch a movie in peace.

To be honest my ideal atmos setup would be 7.1.4 but I would gladly make the "sacrifice" to 5.1.4 if I won this. My old Onkyo gave up the ghost about a year ago and I replaced it with a cheap Yamaha, really miss my Onkyo though. I'd like to build a dedicated home theater room instead of the living room which is a open layout shared with the kitchen and dining room but unfortunately that's out of my budget.

My ideal setup would be an 80" 4K display, the Onkyo TX-NR1030 Atmos Receiver and a pair of PC12-Plus subwoofers. Haven't yet found the ideal speakers that I'd want in my dream setup.

I have had a DIY 9.1 system ever since a few of us on here figured out how Dolby must have created the overhead channel on "We Were Soldiers" special screening in Arizona using a additional (Onkyo) Prologic II receiver to create the overhead channel. Not being able to afford a new receiver with the overhead channel since then I have been using this DIY set up on my custom built DIY 9.2 speaker system (thanks to Dayton Audio speakers) along with a 126" DIY screen in my self built theater room. The new Onkyo would be a great new addition to my theater to play movies/DVD-A/SACD/Bluray Pure Audio discs on.
