The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

It is a very slow week for releases. Things will pick up some in July.

I did review Last Knights last week. That review can be found here.

Unlike others, I thought the last couple of weeks were just fine ..... but this one does rather scrape the bottom, does it not?

Not that it's saving me any money. (He said, having just blown the proverbial wad on some UK stuff. Oy!) :)

Thanks for your work, Mike. While We're Young is good, but I'll pass on it for now due to the high volume of new releases I bought last month and might get it later on post-price drop. Nothing else for me this week.

I also feel like adding a warning: I normally like Dan Fogleman's other work (Crazy Stupid Love, Cars, Galavant), but Danny Collins is the worst film I have seen this year so far by a long shot. It felt like he was writing for one of his sitcoms, not a theatrical feature, and it was so cliche and ridiculous. I'm surprised such an ace cast agreed to it, since the screenplay wasn't doing them any favors, and neither was the scattershot inconsistent tone of his direction. Pass on it for sure.

Head's up to anyone who bought SPIRITED AWAY a few weeks ago when it came out: it was recently adjusted down to $19.99 at Amazon (from I think $21.99 on release week). Depending on how nice your customer service rep is, you MAY or may not be able to request a refund on account of it having dropped so soon. Sometimes, this works, other times not, but it's worth a shot. I personally was holding off on getting it until it hit this price point...

Gonna grab Fault in Our Stars this week. Andrey really wants to see it and, well, for $9.99...that's the cheapest I've seen the movie...

It's an Enzo Castellari week for me! Time to enjoy some awesome Italian exploitation cheese with Escape From the Bronx, 1990: The Bronx Warriors and the New Barbarians! Cheap Mad Max knock offs for the win!

Not sure if this thread is appropriate for reporting download/digital titles that are on sale, but:

iTunes has The West Wing: The Complete Series (in HD) for only $69.99.

As the show is not available on Blu-ray, it is a terrific deal to get all 156 episodes in 1080p.

Another dull week - my review of The Gunman is now up for your reading pleasure!

Should have A John Williams Celebration up tomorrow!!

Next week is not much better, with the exception of possibly one title that is on its way to me (alas, only on DVD, though).

And my review of A John Williams Celebration is now live!!

If you are a fan of his music, you will not be disappointed, although I found it a bit difficult to review for two reasons - it's a symphony concert (which is a challenge to make exciting on video) and it arrived the same week that we lost James Horner.

Excellent! And 4.5/5 in terms of SQ! I might be giving this a try.

Thanks, Todd!
