Couldn't find a thread on this. Just wondered if anyone else was watching.

Season 2 is off to a much stronger start than the first season which took its time to get going but was well worth it in the end. The show suffers from an "Eva Green" problem - everything else pales in comparison to Eva Green :), though Kinnear comes a close second as "The Creature"

Seems like they recognised this as she is even more front and centre so far in Season 2, with another fascinating episode devoted to her backstory in episode 3. I am also finding the central villains far more intriguing, though we will have to see what their end game is.

Glad some others like it - the design and cinematography are great too. Visually it is stunning.

My only reservation is the Dorian Gray character, but I have a feeling his storyline will eventually form part of another season.

Very much enjoying the second season.

It's so sumptuous visually and across the board great acting.

thankfully you guys are keeping the spoiler free, but even in the first season I didn't see an Eva Greene problem, but what I would like more is Dalton and Harnett to bring there "A" game to this so they matched Greene & Kinnear

Oh its a great "problem" for the show to have - I think all the characters are great but Green is on another level to all of them really - but then she probably has the best part too.

Dalton is fine for me. Did Harnett ever have a 'A' game? This series is his best work of his career for me.

I am enjoying this season. I was noticing how visually stunning the show can be with the costumes and sets. Eva Green is awesome. Don't care for the Dorian Gray thing, but it may build into something unexpected. I want to see what happens when Ethan sees the resurrected Brona!

Whoa! Episode 8 certainly brought things to a head! The final 2 episodes are going to be intense.

The penultimate episode was very good too. Can't wait for the finale.

The finale felt like a series finale. They probably didn't know if the series would be renewed.

(Spoilers)

Things got violently worked out, as expected. The talking Vanessa doll was creepy. I was expecting the creature (Mr Clare) to escape as he did, he was waiting for the right opportunity and to learn what his captors had in mind for him. Dorian and Lily- now there's a surprise. Ethan is getting extradited.

These stories will probably be the focus of Season 3.

The best written, acted, most human and touching scenes in the second season were, imo, the scenes between Mr Clare and Miss Ives.

Great ending to the season. There are a lot of open threads still - especially concerning Frankenstein's creations and Dorian Grey.

Loved how the show twisted the trope of a person with a handicap being altruistic and made her as shallow as her parents.

Can someone check my interpretation and tell me if I'm wrong? - Vanessa was tempted by Satan to join her - by offering her a normal life. She rebuked him, essentially saying that isn't what she wanted anymore.

But at the end of the episode, she takes down and burns her crucifix - a way of saying that she's accepted her role of witch and has turned away from God.

Is this interpretation correct? If so, by turning away from God, she's effectively put herself in league with Satan and all he has to do is wait (or he can force the issue) for her to die and she's his. Seems like that whole scene in the witches' castle was for naught.

I believe the Wolf of God will have a lot to do with Vanessa's "redemption." Otherwise, why make such a point of Ethan being the Wolf of God?
