Yesterday I purchased the Vizio M55-C2 for 999.99 and afterwards began to look at my options and found the Samsung UN55JU6700FXZA as well as the Sony XBR55X800B for 1299.99. For the price difference I am wondering if I should make the change to one of those brands based off specs or personal experiences? I am trying to avoid as much motion blur as possible and the TV will primarily be used for 4K streaming, blu-rays, and PS4. Any help is greatly appreciated to get the best quality picture.

Welcome to HTF Justin. I'm afraid you probably arent going to find too many people with direct long term exposure to the new 4k sets, most of us are waiting for them to hit more reasonable price points since there's little native 4k content to watch anyway.

You bought a bargain brand TV and have noted that you are looking for premium features. That in itself might answer your Q. Here's the thing tho: Are you satisfied with the results you are getting from your current content? If so enjoy your purchase and don't read another review until you are ready to replace it. Analysis Paralysis is killer. =)

I haven't looked up those TV, but.

If that is a 2014, return it. If either of the other is a '14, ignore it.

Sony buys their panels from Samusung. So any picture difference between them is completely picture processing.

This is very good advice I will spend some more time with it this evening to evaluate how it looks to me, thanks!

For what it's worth, I just picked up a sony 4k 850. I picked it up not for 4k but for the passive 3d. The glasses for the 1080p were 150 bucks a piece. Buying the glasses for all family members would've cost the same as the 4k, so we went with the 4k. Haven't been able to take it out of the box yet, but can answer questions if you have any.

The one I purchased is a 2015 if that changes your thoughts on the subject I am open to any kind of advice.

LCD, you don't want my input...(beyond it being a 2015 model...of anything)

I also loath Crapizio and Samstung. Sony buys panels from Samstung and ever since they became a "movie and game studio" that produces consumer goods on the side...

I prefer Sharp Aquos(must be Aquos) and LG.

It would be nice if Panasonic and Toshiba figured out how to be relevant.

And again, haven't looked, if any of those sets are edge-lit, I automatically ignore them. Supposedly Crapizio went FALD*(Full Array back-Lit Display, in other words...not edge) on all models...which to me, is the lone good thing of the entire brand.

*FABL is more accurate...but FALD is more "consumer friendly"

Schan's input is always invaluable but he wears his strong opinions on his sleeves =) I encourage you to take them at face value but trust your own eyes just as much!

Have to take the Sony back and not happy about it. Has what looks like a smear of purple in one corner of the screen. Very disappointed because the picture is beautiful besides hi that 3 inch smear.

Check this out :

I was looking for a 4k 60 inch under $1500 and I found a gem in the Vizio M60-C3 for $1249 and with the savings I bought a 3 yr warranty for $89. It's amazing what it can do with the bluray upscaling and native 4k content.

This is replacing a 55 inch Sony LED 1080p 240hz TV. I've always had Sony tv's as my main tv, so I took a chance.
