Largest flat panel TV or projector for multi purpose use ? (1 Viewer)

If you guys were going to play blu ray's, gaming, and cable, netflix, etc, .... Which one would you go with ? The largest flat screen tv (70 - 80") or a 1080P projector ?


The gaming part is not me... it's my 12 yr old son. If not for that, then I would be 100% projector pro-choice. But since he will be in the room playing games, I realize a lot more hours will be put on a bulb.


The room will be a media room that will serve the purpose of all three formats. However, I understand that going with a projector will accumulate a lot more hours on the bulb vs. going with a largest TV I can afford. I would love to go projection over the tv option.

What are yall's thoughts on this ?

I would go with the projector and limit his gaming hours.


Or have a separate TV that he uses for gaming. Then you can have your projector also.

You could also get an LED or laser projector that doesn't require changing bulbs.
