International BREAKER MORANT (1 Viewer)

Another excellent Australian movie based on the little know Boer War. It is 1901 and many parts of Africa are ruled by England. The Boers as they were called were Dutch farmers living in English controlled Africa who objected to being ruled by the British. Like many other wars where one country thinks they can win a quick battle this war proves a challenge to the British when the Boers fight using guerrilla tactics. This movie is based on true story.


The video shows a few specs in the opening credits once the movie begins they disappear. The picture is excellent with lots of detail. The audio is DTS their are no subtitles. The Blu-ray was played on a Phillips Region-Free player set to Region B.


Running time 102 minutes.

I've got the DVD of Breaker Morant, where the image is quite dull with faded colours. To some extent I assume the photography was pitched towards a bleak and subdued feel (I never saw this in the cinema). Could you please provide any further comment on the colour aspect of the Blu-ray?
I agree that the movie is excellent, with some rousing performances.

Sure RMajidi the color was excellent there were some small specs during the opening credits that disappeared once the movie started. It appears the distributor did not do any restoration they just took the best print they had and dubbed it to a Blu-ray. The Blu-ray is a big improvement over the DVD.


Unlike Gallipoli which states the movie was digitally remastered frame by frame.
