I haven't seen this one since my Laserdisc days, but as I recall it had some pretty wild A/Vs. In particular, the 'wolfenvision' POV shots were not only creepy, but very trippy, assisted by one of the liveliest surround sound mixes of the era.

Plus it had that scene...truly horrific stuff.

It's been a while since I've seen this, but if I remember correctly I wasn't too taken with Wolfen because it deviated far too much from Whitley Strieber's excellent, excellent novel. Maybe I'll have to revisit the film anyway. Albert Finney is always good.

The 80s produced some pretty amazing horror films that have, IMO, stood the test of time; The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, and, of course, Wolfen.

This is a very good horror film...effective, suspenseful and exciting...Albert Finney is always welcome...I wish Gregory Hines had lived to do a lot more films...and these wolves are a whole lot more scary than some in more recent movies ( The Grey for instance ). I'm not one to collect a lot of horror films, but this one is a definite buy for me...
