Twilight Time is entering Criterion turf by releasing a Truffaut film. Hopefully, there will be no range wars.
Based at least partially upon the diaries kept by Adele, one of Victor Hugo's daughters, M. Truffaut has created on of his finest works.
As photographed by the great Nestor Almendros, Adele H. is a film that equally pleases the mind as well as the eye.
Twilight Time has released the film in French with English sub-titles, along with occasional English language, which has always lent an interesting texture to the viewing experience.
Fortunately, imagery is generally very nice. There are a few instances, where color looks a bit odd, but I'm thrilled with what we have.
An important film, especially from Truffaut, that demands your attention.
