If you attended any of these H.T.F. Events, there is someone you all became familiar with. She actually wound up with the title of “The Lovely Michelle”! She and I were an item for a fair amount of time and she was in attendance at EVERY one.

Years pass and things change. She and I....especially she and my sons...stayed in touched and we think the world of her.

T.L.M. Met this great guy and in time, they became engaged. I never got to meet him, but my sons did and said he was a warm and decent guy. Any discomfort they may have had upon first encounter, was dissipated by Joe's warm and welcoming demeanor.

He and T.L.M. were self employed. She crafting or fabricating custom window treatments, he doing World Class installations in some really magnificent homes. It was all running pretty smoothly.

Then Hurricane Sandy destroyed his house, literally. Even then, they had the plans and will power to get it rebuilt.

That changed in a heartbeat,

This past fall her fiance, Joe Pante', was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach Cancer. Basically, end stage. No prior warning or symptoms...just a complete blind sided kick in the head. As you can imagine the expenses are staggering. Just the initial round of medical was a hair south of 200K.

Michelle wound up being Doctor, Nurse, Nutritionist, etc. Pretty much an around the clock effort. Having attended to my late wife as she moved to the next realm, I can tell you in terms of efforts and energy required, I had a cake walk compared to what Michelle had to deal with.

Joe passed away a few weeks ago, at home, at peace, and among his loved ones.

A online fundraiser has been established to help defer the funeral expenses. They aren't seeking tons of money, just some help to stay afloat. If any ScooterPalooza attendees and other H.T.F. Members can offer a helping hand, be that donations, prayers, good thoughts, that would be great. She is a great girl, NEVER EVER afraid of hard work, and dealing with some really sad and hard stuff right now. I am putting the link here to the fund raiser, as well as, The ScooterPalooza album page. She is the stunning blonde in may of the photos. Thus the title The Lovely (and gracious) Michelle.

Thanks for reading and considering. Please let her know you are from the H.T.F. as she really loved the ScooterPalooza parties and the people she met. Also, feel free to post the fundraiser to your Social Media sites.

Worst decision I ever made was not making the trip to what turned out to be the last Scooterpalooza ever.

Thanks for the links, Mike. It's always fun to stroll down memory lane of those early days at the HTF. And it's always fun to hear from you. Let's make it under better circumstances next time.

Thanks to both you guys. Everything helps!

What I didn't mention was Michelle had been diagnosed with breast cancer last summer. Fortunately, it was found WAY early....the Dr. said beyond early...and she is take a protocol of meds herself.

My youngest, Morgan, is getting married this July. So, I'll be back east for a bit. Maybe see some of y'all then.

Folks, something you should be aware of: Scooter's son Greg has just announced on facebook that Scoot is gravely ill, with multiple counts of stage 4 cancer. =( Greg is on the way to TX to see his dad and reported that the end may be rapidly approaching for our friend. Please keep Scoot in your hearts and minds, and join me in wishing him, his sons and extended family, peace.

To the Jolleys, please know that the entire membership of HTF is saddened to hear about this and we send you our support with heavy hearts. If there is anything we can do please let us know! Please let Scoot know we are there with him and are thinking about the good times and conversations we had together!

If ANYONE would like to send Cards, Flowers, or Anything to Scooter - you can do so by sending them to:

Scooter Jolley
C/O Harris Methodist HEB

1600 Hospital Parkway - Room 149

Bedford, Texas 76022

I have also set up a special email address for anyone who wants to send Scooter messages - and I will print them out and have them for him in his room.

[email protected]

I'm also trying to trend #ScooterPalooza and #PrayersForScooter on all social media - pay tribute to a great soul! Use it it often - let Scooter know he's got a nation of friends praying for him.

I'll keep everyone posted - and I will relay ANY and ALL messages that are sent to that email address to Scooter. I'll be headed back down to the hospital later this morning. (And thanks for the Welcome - Scooter and I share a love for big backyard screens and movies...) I've known scooter for only a few years, but knew he was a huge fan of this site and wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of his health.

Thanks everyone for keeping him in your prayers!

Robert,

I also want to welcome you here and thank you for keeping us updated.

I am one of the owners of this forum and someone who has gotten to know Scooter rather well over the years.

I just sent an email. I am hoping that Scooter is coherent enough to be able to accept the well wishes that are coming his way.

Tell me about it, Chris. I said this to Scoot earlier in this very thread:

Mike Frezon said:

I was thisclose to going...and just didn't pull the trigger. Big mistake.
