If you attended any of these H.T.F. Events, there is someone you all became familiar with. She actually wound up with the title of “The Lovely Michelle”! She and I were an item for a fair amount of time and she was in attendance at EVERY one.
Years pass and things change. She and I....especially she and my sons...stayed in touched and we think the world of her.
T.L.M. Met this great guy and in time, they became engaged. I never got to meet him, but my sons did and said he was a warm and decent guy. Any discomfort they may have had upon first encounter, was dissipated by Joe's warm and welcoming demeanor.
He and T.L.M. were self employed. She crafting or fabricating custom window treatments, he doing World Class installations in some really magnificent homes. It was all running pretty smoothly.
Then Hurricane Sandy destroyed his house, literally. Even then, they had the plans and will power to get it rebuilt.
That changed in a heartbeat,
This past fall her fiance, Joe Pante', was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach Cancer. Basically, end stage. No prior warning or symptoms...just a complete blind sided kick in the head. As you can imagine the expenses are staggering. Just the initial round of medical was a hair south of 200K.
Michelle wound up being Doctor, Nurse, Nutritionist, etc. Pretty much an around the clock effort. Having attended to my late wife as she moved to the next realm, I can tell you in terms of efforts and energy required, I had a cake walk compared to what Michelle had to deal with.
Joe passed away a few weeks ago, at home, at peace, and among his loved ones.
A online fundraiser has been established to help defer the funeral expenses. They aren't seeking tons of money, just some help to stay afloat. If any ScooterPalooza attendees and other H.T.F. Members can offer a helping hand, be that donations, prayers, good thoughts, that would be great. She is a great girl, NEVER EVER afraid of hard work, and dealing with some really sad and hard stuff right now. I am putting the link here to the fund raiser, as well as, The ScooterPalooza album page. She is the stunning blonde in may of the photos. Thus the title The Lovely (and gracious) Michelle.
Thanks for reading and considering. Please let her know you are from the H.T.F. as she really loved the ScooterPalooza parties and the people she met. Also, feel free to post the fundraiser to your Social Media sites.
