"They want it to be a complementary product and not a competing product that cannibalizes their core business," Ms. Ranganathan said. "They don't want it to become too popular."

Somebody missed the April Fool's deadline.

Kidding aside, this is about the most asinine statement I've read this month, including all the statements I've read/heard on April 1st. What the hell are they thinking?

If I could get fast enough broadband where I live I would cancel my Dish subscription today. I have a terrestrial antenna so my locals are in HD for free. The only interest I even had in satellite was Top Gear on BBC America and now that Jeremy Clarkson has been sacked, I have absolutely zero use for satellite. My wife, on the other hand, would throttle me with my own right arm if I were to drop our satellite service without a streaming backup solution.
