With me stumbling into the Last American Virgin announcement thread and finding Kino's releases of Enter the Ninja, I realized that there was a boatload of awesome Cannon films coming out, stuff that I had completely lost track of. Since I am compelled to buy every single Cannon Film that comes out on Blu, I had to put together a list - and then decided to share with you!

It's almost certainly incomplete, but here's the work in progress:

Shout/Scream:

Technically this last one isn't a cannon film, but I would be remiss in my duty if I did not include Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story Of Cannon Films:

Anyway, please feel free to point out discs I missed and I'll update as we go. In the meantime, please enjoy this awesomeness:

I heard people claim that one of their films, Enter the Ninja, had many English-language versions. And only one of them featured the original voice of Franco Nero.

Am I correct in assuming that?

To answer your question,

Superman II, III, and IV have not had individual releases on Blu-Ray.

The 'Donner' cut of S2 was released, but that is quite different from the original.

Gotta give ya props for this great thread, Tony ma man!

I've a soft spot for many Cannon/Go-Go films and have already picked up quite a few on BD. Germany's great for getting many of them out on BD long before anyone else, so I'd recommend you keeping an eye on the German Amazon site...

Yes but the German Ninja III was an atrocity, a VHS quality transfer. Wait for reviews before committing.

Sound advice Bob, but that goes for DVDs and BDs from anywhere! Don't forget that as with other countries, many German BDs, even of US and British films, happen to be the definitive releases worldwide...

You know, I'm not sure. When I get home from work, I'll check my older copy of Enter the Ninja and compare it to the dub on Django - see if it's Franco in both audio tracks.

Well, upon examining my collection - I dont have it. I have Ninja III: The Domination, American Ninja (with Michael Dudikoff) and Nine Deaths of the Ninja (wrong studio), but no Enter the Ninja. So in answer to your question: I have no idea.

Yeah, I know theyre kind of dumb cheese, but they're fun dumb cheese and I'm looking forward to the Breakin' set more than the law should allow.

Also, on another note: Deep Discount DVD has a bunch of blu rays on sale, and there's a bunch of Cannon discs in the mix. The Death Wish flicks, Missing in Action 1 and 2 and a couple of others. If you need a quick fix, this might scratch that itch!

I would be interested in "Grace Quigley" (or "The Ultimate Solution of Grace Quigley") --- Katharine Hepburn's last leading role in a theatrical film (co-starring Nick Nolte). Cannon gave it a token release in 1985 and it has rarely surfaced since then.

If any of these have the rights to Agatha Christie's Appointment With Death on Blu that would be great. I have the region 2 dvd.
