Does anyone know if Studio Canal Blu Rays are usually Region Free, or not?

In my experience they're usually region-locked.
I have 4 of them, bought in France.
Two are locked on B: "The Third Man" and "To Be or Not to Be" (these titles are available in region A from Criterion).
One is AB: "Le Mépris".
One is ABC "Le Père Noël est une ordure", unlikely to be of much appeal outside French-speaking countries.
I own several Studio Canal DVDs: all are Region 2.

The Ladykillers Blu-Ray is region AB

I believe this release is in the wrong aspect ratio. It should be widescreen. TCM showed it once (?) in WS, and I caught part of it. It looked splendid. Next time they showed it, it was shown flat.David Weicker said:

I have The Third Man, Studio Canal, Region A, very nice transfer.
Be nice if they release more Bertrand Blier.

Studio Canal UK Blurays are locked .
However , they are one of the labels for which playback of the majority of their titles is possible if you have a Panasonic Bluray player.
For some unknown reason you can play these discs on Region A players by selecting the menu once the disc has failed to load.
This trick also works with titles from Arrow.

It looks like a new 4K transfer is being released in July.
