Hello everyone,

I am afraid I'm not that knowledgeable on this...

I have a fairly standard LG Blu-Ray player with the capacity to output audio as:
  • PCM Stereo
  • PCM Multi-channel
  • DTS Re-encode
  • Bitstream
I have a PC with a Sound Blaster Z sound card, which accepts SPDIF input from the Blu-Ray player.

I do not have a proper surround sound speaker setup, but I DO have 2x stereo speakers, which I have plugged into the Front/Rear jack output respectively, giving me in effect 4 speakers (each with their own sub-woofer). When playing games, the surround sound works great.

However, I want to play a blu-ray in surround sound using this setup. Is it possible to achieve this, and would you please be able to tell me what to do?

I currently have PCM Multi-Channel selected, as this seems logical. DTC re-encode and Bitstream both just produce a loud buzzing noise, so I assume my PC cannot decode them.
