I did a search and did not see this posted anywhere.

For the ol timers here many will remember Steve was at the forefront of the DVD movement. Steve suffered multiple cardiac arrests on the 28th and was removed from life support yesterday.

Steve was a very creative man and talented writer.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

He was also a long time member of Home Theater Talk (it's long gone now) and current replacement is Home Theater Lounge.

We both just turned 50 this past November and I sent him a quick note to say welcome to the Club 50. :(

(I knew him from HTT and HTL sites)

Wow, I am shocked. That is too young...

Way too young.

Steve and I shared a lot with each other about our various medical issues over the years: two forum members talking about how their bodies were breaking down like a couple of old guys even though we were just in our forties & fifties.

I supported him when he was participating in an American Heart Association Healthy Walk event a while back and he was very kind to me during my prolonged absence from the HTF last year.

I will miss his presence here VERY much. A class act.

Wow, this is terrible. And so soon after long-timer Ockeghem, too. Rough times for the HTF. :(

R.I.P., Steve.

I just saw this posted on his personal FB page.

I'm beyond sad from this news.

He was one of my favorite people whom I never actually met.

His latest FB post was a few days ago about his dad passing away.

I know he was having health issue lately that kept him housebound and He hadn't been able to use his home theater.

This is very upsetting.

Back before I knew about HTF I knew about dvdresource.

That was how I found HTF.

:(
Seeing that page brings me back to the early days of DVD. Those were some exciting times for HT geeks. :) In two years, it will be 20 years since I bought my first DVD player. Steve's site helped usher in a new home video age along with the internet boom.

Very sad to hear of Steve's passing - don't know how to describe it but kinda "strikes close to home".

My deepest condolences to his family, friends and his "extended" family of home theater enthusiasts.

Regards,

From what I remember I'm about 65% certain Steve's site was the first sponsor that Netflix ever had.

I joined NF from a link on his site and I believe he helped make NF a known resource.

Yep I remember many visits to his website as well as The Digital Bits...two of my very first sites I went to when DVD hit.
