Cinedigm has released The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness on DVD. I'm posting in Blu-ray, as it relates heavily to BD titles.
This is a two-hour documentary which allows the viewer seemingly unfettered access to the sanctum santorum of Studio Ghibli in Japan.
Directed by Mami Sunada, it follows the Ghibi staff as they work to complete The Wind Rises and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.
Anyone who love the work of Studio Ghibli and desires to understand how their films are made, will love this documentary, which brings you face to face with Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, as you literally follow them through typical days of work.
While it's available for import, from Japan in Blu-ray, the U.S. release is DVD only, at one third the price of the import.
A superb documentary.
Highly Recommended
