As usual it's left to me to say something.
I have the previous MGM "standard" DVD of this exciting thrill-packed spectacular but I will definitely be upgrading to bluray and appreciate its release. Albeit I hope that the noticable splice in "The End" title card and United Artists credit has been corrected.
Yul Brynner was a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c action-adventure actor but (obviously) was capable of more "serious" work in his profession.
But one (admittedly) loves him in films like THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN (1960) and of course KINGS OF THE SUN (1963).
**Spoiler Alert!**
I wish the "fate" of his character Black Eagle in this film could have been different but tragedy is what makes for captivating poignant drama.
For the record I would just love to take on that thick-skulled braggart Hunac Ceel (played by the "fine" character actor tough guy Leo Gordon). That belligerant hothead pansy doesn't intimitate me one iota...nor did it Black Eagle's warrior tribe of braves!
