Harmony 650 topic (1 Viewer)

Hey guys need some help

I don't want t confuse anyone, so this question is for a second HT set-up, not my primary one. With that said, here is my question.


The model of the devices isn't the problem for brevity, I'll leave them out. My question is about programming the Harmony 650 remote.

I have the following

Toshiba 55" TV, DirecTV STB, Cable STB, Pioneer Rvr., Samsung Blue-ray player

I'm using pass through on the rcvr.'


I want to be able to program the following activities.


Watch direct with receiver

watch direct tv without the receiver

watch cable with and without the receiver

play blu-ray with and without the receiver

listen to music with the receiver and blu-ray player

listen to music just the receiver


here is my problem

In the various activities, I need to power on the receiver, switch the input (cable, Direct TV, Blu-ray)

I then need to power it off, when I do not want to use it.

The 650 handles everything fine- except when I try to add the step to power off the receiver. I can't add the power off receiver as the last step to the activity.


Can someone help with this? Do I need to upgrade the remote to the next model?, etc.

I think I have an answer. I need to add a new command to my activity. The command will be to power off the receiver once the input is changed correctly. I think I can add a custom command using a 650. I know I can do it with my other Harmony remote.
