I'm trying to figure out if I should just get Soundbar or an 5.1 home theater system? Pretty much I have an pretty small room, I have an Sony led 55 inch mounted above my dresser and on top of my dresser is direct tv box and dvd bluray player. Anyways I'm not even sure If i should move my dresser to the right of my bed and put an entertainment center there because having too many stuff on top of the dresser looks kinda tacky, not to mention I might get even more things on top like an Xbox One or av receiver depending on what I'm gonna do, but then again I wouldn't mind the dresser because it saves me a lot of room.

Bottom line is I'm just trying to make my small bedroom home theaterish looking, nothing too fancy, just an clean look.

So what do you guys think, how will you have it set up? 5.1 or soundbar? and what speakers, receiver or soundbar do you recommend? Should I move my dresser to the right of me and put an entertainment center there?

1) 55 inch led hdtv sony w900a. I view it from 9 feet

2) Video equipment: Bluray and direct tv box

I saw your thread yesterday...so this is a newer one on the same thing...

What do I think?

My Master bedroom is a 50" plasma, Polk S8, Polk "white wedge" monitor and some Polk center(no longer has a tag...but uses the same type of tweeter and woofer that the S8 has...only has a tweeter and one 5" woofer).

The AVR is an Onkyo TX-NR807.

Have a BD player, DVD player(that plays SACD/DVD-A), 6 cd changer, NeoTV(which I might switch out all my NeoTV for various Roku), Directv, Chromecast.

And oh yeah..a M&K VX-75.

The Master bedroom is 16x22(not counting the closet or bathroom)

Well..

What are the dimensions of the room? Is the listening position up against a wall? What's your budget?

Start with these and then go from there, just so we all have a better idea of what you're working with.

It's about 12x12 and it is against the wall. I say at least $2000 budget

You didn't see the pics?
Pics don't help without dimensions, budget or your intended viewing area.

First I've seen room dimensions or a budget.

I was just thinking.....if I tried to watch a movie from the bedroom, I'd never make it past the opening credits!!! lol It's like reading a book in bed. Can't stay awake. Must be my age! ;)
