Hi people.

i´m looking a receiver, but i know a little about this topic. i want 2 zones in the same receiver, becouse i want to have 3.1 inside (indoor) and 2 speakes outdoor, i want to play the music at the same time or separated, if i have a party i want to listen only outside, or maybe i want to watch the tv and listen only indoor, or big party, inside and outside.

I dont want to have a really big speakers, but maybe 80w speakers, and of course a Subwoofer.

For outdoor speakers i have already 2 polk audio atrium 4 (by a gift), indoor speakers i dont have anyting yet.

If someone can told my please, i´m going to aprecciate , Thank u.

It would help to know where you are and what sources(devices) you would be using in one or both locations.

Cause you might get away with a $400 AVR....or need a $1000 AVR...depending on what the devices are.

Some zone-2's will only play analog sources (so radio, or CD is you have it hooked up via red/white (but not if you hook the CD up using HDMI or optical)), if you want to play all sources through zone-2 you may have to go up the line - check the manual of the receiver you're considering.

If you aren't planing on playing different sources at the same time, I think it's much better to look for a receiver with an A/B switch. With an A/B switch you can just pick whether you want the audio to go to room A, room B, or both. With a zone system you have to individually set the source for each zone; so great if you want different audio, but a PITA if you just want to play the same thing everywhere.

Ok, i make a mistake, at the time i said 2 zones , i´m talking about a/b switch, i have already read some diferents articules in the web.

So, the receiver i´m looking, i want to play 3.1 inside home and 2 speakes outdoor (patio), i want to listen the music inside and outside, but the same music, not diferent. it could be airplar, or via bluethoot, to the receiver, i thing a lot of receiver do that.

What receiver do you recomend ? i dont want to pay more than $400 dlls, i saw a lot of brands ( yamaha, denon, onkyo, sony , etc)

Thank U, everyone

Huh. I think I got your hopes and can't deliver. Based on a relatively quick search of Yamaha and Onkyo, it seems that they only put A/B in stereo receivers anymore. If you can do without a center channel, this Yamaha looks nice; otherwise I think you have to go with multiple zones.

(Or, if it were me, just get a second cheap receiver, you can get one for your needs for $200 or less.)
