Hi folks,

I just bought a bose accousticmass speaker system to use with my Denon AVT-1712 reveiver. I had my room cabled for a different speaker set so all the cables for the speakers come from behind the receiver. I also ran the subwoofer inside the drywall and placed a female RCA plug in the wall to run just a small extension to the unit.
I see now that the bose system comes with an all-in-one cable that runs to the subwoofer and goes to the speakers from there. My questions are:

Can i safely use my current connections from the receiver direct to the cubes?

If so, is there such a converter cable from rca to the one the subwoofer takes that only passes thru the SB signal?

Thanks a lot in advance!

1. The Bose bass module is not a subwoofer.

2. No you can't run the sats without running to the bass module first, as that is where the DSP for the system resides.

3a.depending which you bught, the Bose bass module is not self-powered, which renders RCA a moot point.

3b. Which one did you get?

4. You should return it and get a proper speaker system like the KEF E series.

Schan,

Thank you for your response.

Before i came here and asked i tested the cubes with my current wires and subwoofer and they worked. They sounded great. Am I risking blowing them?

About the "subwoofer". This one has a power cord. what do you mean by "not self powered? Please, excuse my lack of knowledge.

I bought the Acousticmass 10.

Thank you!

So, the 10 has an LFE connection. You don't need to use it though, since all 5 cubes have to go the bass module first.

The correct set up, like it says in the Acoustimass 10 manual(have you read it?) is all positions set LARGE.

Use the "subwoofer as yes" if you want, which I would advise against that.
