While Bill Condon's Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995), may not have the textures of the 1992 original, but it's still a fun ride.
With the storyline moved from Chicago to New Orleans -- not sure why Robitaille visited Chicago -- something is gained, but in the end this may be a sequel for fans of the original.
Scream Factory, which continually seems to be moving it's product line upward as far as quality and extras, adds a couple of interviews to this release, along with an audio commentary with Bill Condon.
What's important here is the quality of the disc, which both visually and aurally is very nice. Good grain, nice blacks and shadow detail, and a nicely resolved image.
I was actually expecting the worst when the Polygram logo hit the screen, and pumped in and out of focus a bit, but I presume that may have been in the original logo dupe.
Audio is especially strong, with heavy subs, and a nicely rendered track.
A bit of sparkle actually adds to the overall film-like appearance of the Blu-ray, and never is bothersome.
