I purchased the three movie LOTR Trilogy the day after thanksgiving. It apparently was a Walmart exclusive. This week I finally get a chance to watch the movies. They don't work. When Gandalf is summoning the Eagles through the moth it abruptly jumps three minutes and doesn't allow me to watch that three minutes. I call Walmart, I say, "no I don't have my receipt, but I would like to have discs that work. Oh you have one and you'll hold it for me, great."
I ask my mother to do the exchange. They explicitly say it has to be the exact same thing to do the exchange. No problem. I'm not trying to copy movies, I just want the movies I did buy to work. My mother does the exchange for me while I'm at work. I get home, and they exchanged it for the DVD copies. UNBELIEVABLE! My mother said she thought they were different, but they told her it was all they had plus she had to pay extra to get them. O_o I asked if they would exchange for the blu-ray copies of the individual movies that they sell for 7.88 a piece, "no." This upsets me to no end. I feel like they scammed my mother because she didn't know any better, and I'm out 10 bucks.
This is the second "After Thanksgiving-day Sale" that I have bought movies from Walmart and they didn't work. Only to find out they only stock those movies for that sale. Last year, I had to write Universal to get replacements because Walmart wouldn't exchange them. Universal did, but they sent used Blu-rays. Never again...until next year.
Rant over.
