I'll be moving into my new home in May. There is a room upstairs that will be dedicated to my next HT room.

It measures 12'x13' w/ 8.5' ceilings. One window. And a pair of French doors going into it.

I have not bought any equipment yet but hopefully planning on that later this year. Right now I'm just trying to do my homework and decide on what pieces I want. Obviously this is not a very large room, quite small actually but one that will more than suffice for what it will be used for. I'm planning on going front projection again.

I think I have what speakers I want for the room. I've decided to go with SVS primes bookshelves up front, the SVS Prime Center, and either 2 or 4 sats for the rears depending on if I go 5.1 or 7.1.

Subwoofer will be the SVS SB-2000.

The only 3 pieces I need help with recommendations are the BR player, FProjector, and receiver.

Budget will be around $5000. I've looked at the Oppo brand BR players and they are expensive but do offer a whole lot of features of which not sure I would use all of them. I'd like the receiver to be network so I can play music via my mobile device / laptop wirlelessly.

The room will also be for gaming as well.

Any help appreciated,

Thanks,TroyH

12x13 room, if you are doing 7.1, means a seating distance of 6.5 to 8 feet. Even if doing 5.1, 7 to 9 feet.

I sit 9 feet from a 2.35 108"( 120" 16:9).

So, figure out if you want proper audio, or if you are going to sacrifice audio performance to move seating back to the far wall.

My room is basically a square. so my back seating (a sofa) will be literally up against the back wall. so maybe my particular layout would not accommodate a 7.1 setup, more so for 5.1 ?

Well, 4/5 is still supposed to be at 115° from center, which puts them still behind the seating. Ideal(and mentioned in every manual, of everything, $300 HTiB to $30,000 prepro) is the center seat(sweat spot) be right in the middle of every speaker.

And no, the "circle" does not need to be room contained. If you map out a "proper circle", even the main left/right are off the wall.

That is the "purist" guideline. If shoving the couch to the back wall, thereby making 4/5 at 90°. No room for 7.1.
