I can fake the audio part of home theater, but I'm clueless on monitors; plus, I haven't purchased a large screen in 10 years - so I need some help!

I'm looking to get a 60" for under $1200. I'd like to get it from Costco for their return and service policies, but am not completely locked in.

Picture quality is the number one consideration. I need to be able to turn off enhanced picture processing. I won't be using audio or smart features. For what it's worth my room and our family viewing habits prohibit a plasma.

Going off the Costco web site, I like the Vizio E600i-B3 ($700) and the Sony KDL60W630B ($1000).

Any reco's between the two? Any other options?

If picture quality is your number one consideration, I'd recommend picking up a Samsung F5300 plasma TV instead for your price range.

You may be able to get one through your local Best Buy store. If not, Amazon is selling them for $870 and free shipping. Make sure to buy it as soon as possible, since plasma tv's are officially dead and no longer being produced.

Yeah, I really wanted to go with the F5300, but this room has glare problems, and although I "won" the WAF speaker war, I don't stand a chance with the curtain and light placement war - so it has to be an LCD.

I went with the Sony.

At that price, LCD aren't matte.

Glare reduction requires a matte screen

Plasma had those first.

Oh well. Another reason plasma died...
