Got home today, my brother was playing ps4 on my projector. I was in the room when he went to turn it off. He turned the receiver off and a static image came up on the projector, like this:

When we tried to turn the projector off, we couldn't. It would not accept any command from the remote, or respond to the physical power button on the projector. When changing inputs on the receiver the image would flicker. You could still hear the ps4 menu music through the speakers and the ps4 display would flicker through occasionally.

I know it's not good for it since it doesn't allow the fan to cool it off, but I had to pull the plug on the projector. Once it was off I plugged it back in and powered it on, planning to turn it off properly and let it cool. What I was greeted with was burn in from the ps4 menu. The only pic I got of it doesn't show it well when I upload it to my PC.

I examined it for a few minutes and then I just powered it off and its sat off since then.

So is my projector toast? Is it okay to turn it back on later? I thought projectors couldn't get burn in? Any advice or clues as to why this happened are appreciated.

looks the PJ is either not getting the signal or that the signal is failing to initialize / connect with the PJ. Check your cabling first to ensure that the cable connections are solid. Then with all the devices off, turn on 1 at a time (you may have to experiment on the order of doing this) until you get both audio and video signals.

HDMI = fun stuff!!
