Good Afternoon.
I hope it's okay I ask I have lurked for a little while and gained some good information.

I always love to add to my collection. Lately I have been on a kick of finding 80s-00s TV shows that are either OOP, USA shows released in Region 2/4 only and stuff that is Made on Demand.

I am hoping someone might happen to know where I can find or happen to keep a list of such shows.

Some examples might be...

USA shows that are R2 only
Automan
Manimal
Two Guys and a Girl
Caroline in the City (Season 3 and 4 are R2)

OOP/Hard to Find
Titus
Hardcastle and McCormick
Jim Profit

MOD
Spenser: For Hire

Thanks

ALF is presented uncut only on R2 German DVDs.

The Tick (animated) season 3, and the missing S1 and 2 episodes are only out in R2. They're also OOP and bcoming hard to find.

The Rhino volumes of MST3K (1-12, and some single discs) are OOP, most becoming hard to find. Volume 9 was going for over $150 bucks back in 2010.

And, there's a R2 release of Ren and Stimpy seasons 1 and 2 coming soon to keep your eye on, to see if the uncut episodes are presented there, or if it's the same hackjobs released in the US.

Thanks. From my looking around a lot of what is mentioned in some great sticky lists is up to the 70s

Thanks I will defiantly keep an eye out. I just grabbed Ren and Stimpy some more of 3 and 4 and The Lost Episodes because they were cheap at Walmart over the holiday season. Is the 3/4 set hacked up as well?

I know people have said Rocko's Modern Life has a few cuts in the R1 set so I bought the German set of that.

Yeah, going by the Amaazon reviews, Nickelodeon took the knife to S3 and 4 of Ren and Stimpy, as well.

As times changed and we regressed as to what was "acceptable", Nick cut more and more stuff from shows like Ren and Stimpy and Rocko, and wouldn't provide the uncut stuff to Shout, or even on their own DVDs.

Oh, and one more...

Quantum Leap seasons 2 and 3 are only available with all original music in R2 releases. The US versions are hacked to bits.

/Season 4, however, is equally music replaced in both R1 and R2.

For shows from the states, you can add:

Gemini Man R2
The Bad News Bears R2
Viper R2 (no English soundtrack)
Darkroom R4
Mrs. Columbo R2
The Sixth Sense R2
Black Sheep Squadron Season Two R2
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir R4
The Law and Harry McGraw R2 & R4
Misfits of Science R2
Robocop: The Series Blu-ray RB
Madigan R2
Spencers Pilots R2
Amazing Stories Season Two R2 ( I don't think season two is available in the states)
Tenspeed and Brownshoe R2 (no English soundtrack on the release from Italy, English track on German release)

I include Tenspeed only because the Region 2 set includes the pilot movie, which is missing from the U.S. release.

your post was very helpful. I wrote it down and ordered The Bad News Bears and Misfits of Science
I am sad to hear that Viper does not have English audio. I love shows where cars are featured (Have Automan, Hardcastle and McCormick, and Knight Rider)

I see Robocop: The Series is posted at Amazon ASIN: B00E9UBCO0 and one posted at Amazon ASIN: B003Y7TJXA They both seem to be 6 disc sets would you happen to know if they are the same series?

Thanks again.

You are welcome, glad to help.

I'm not sure about Robocop. I should have been more specific in my post. I actually meant to say Robocop: The Series on Blu-ray, as the series is available on DVD here in the states. So, I've corrected that in my post now. I don't have either version of the series that you asked about.

I only have this one: http://www.amazon.de/RoboCop-Platinum-TV-Serien-Bonus-DVD-Blu-ray/dp/B00H3925C2/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1420219159&sr=1-2&keywords=robocop+the+series

By far not the best quality Blu-ray, but for the price I paid it was far cheaper than the U.S. DVD set.

That's okay. I ordered the R2 DVD ASIN i listed above because there was one shipped from USA and it was a bit cheaper then the other ASIN R1 set (20 dollars VS 32 dollars)

I just wanted to bump this to say thanks to everyone and see if anyone else could ring in now that it has been about a month.

Thanks to everyone here I was able to add.

The Bad News Bears

Misfits of Science

The Law and Harry McGraw

and

Spencer's Pilots to my collection.

I have been keeping an eye out for Mrs. Columbo with no luck and I look now and again for Viper even though with no English audio track I would be a little lost.

One is Region A (North America) NTSC and the other is Region 2 (Europe) PAL (imported to USA) but depending where you are and what you can play I would go for the Blu-Ray (Region B Europe)

I just wanted to update a little.

At a glance I own
Automan
Manimal
Two Guys and a Girl
Caroline in the City (Season 3 and 4)
Gemini Man
The Bad News Bears

Misfits of Science
The Law and Harry McGraw
Spencer's Pilots
and
The German release of the first season of Hunter staring Fred Dryer because it has the original music.

I just ordered

Mrs. Columbo it is listed as Madame Columbo - Saisons 1 & 2 in case anyone else is looking.

I have been trying to watch Gemini Man but the DVD release and the Wiki seems to have conflicting orders.

I have never seen this so first run, but the few episodes I watched were really good. I just want to make sure I watch it in order. Does anything with knowledge of this series know the correct order the episodes go in?

Wanted to bump this because I recently purchased the 1987 TV show Out of This World. I found it on eBay from a good seller at a good price.

The set has a few episodes missing do to not being able to clear music rights. I have never watched it before, but it is 35 episodes from seasons 1 and 2 on a six disc set.

The set is listed as Out Of This World 1987 Series Vol 1 on eBay and the box reads Mein Vater est ien AuBerirdisch (sorry can't do the double S on my keyboard.)

The box and menus are in German, but the program has an English audio track.

I am currently working on getting the episodes sorted so far I have gone through the first disc. Since I never watched it before and I am trying to use Google Translate to go from German to English these might be off, but I hope they are correct.

Disc 1 Season 1

Ep 1
Ep 5
Ep 6
Ep 7
Ep 9
Ep 10
Ep 11

Disc 2 Season 1

Ep 12? (Seems to translate as Grandmother's Second Spring)
Ep 13? (Seems to translate as The Wedding Day)
Ep 16
Ep 19
Ep 20? (Seems to translate as Bruises from space)
Ep 21

Disc 3 Season 2

This disc was tough. I had to guess a bit, but it seems to be the first 6 episodes from Season 2.

The only two titles that matched up here were

Career Crunch

and

Evie's First Kiss

So I hope the rest are okay. A member on the IMDB Board for this show mentions there are only 2 episodes missing from Season 2 (and 11 from season 1)

Will edit as I get more discs sorted

I have been looking for a list similar to yours. To it I can add Chicago Hope, Seasons 1-5, which are out only in R2.

Actually, all 6 seasons of Chicago Hope are available in R2.

Also, to add to the list:

L.A. Law Seasons 4 - 6 -> R2

NYPD Blue Seasons 9 - 12 -> R2

Picket Fences - Season 2 -> R4

Do you have a link or other info on this? When I try to look it up, for upcoming, all I find is releases that are already out. TIA.

The R1 dvd version released by Alliance in 2010, seems to be out of print.

The packaging of this 2010 Alliance version was absolutely atrocious. The packaging warped the discs to the point that they were unplayable.

I went through three copies of this set, and was unable to find one which had all the discs playable. Eventually I gave up and got a refund.

Over the past few years, Alliance/E-one has re-released a lot of their sci-fi/fantasy/action tv show season sets in generic multidisc dvd cases which didn't warp the discs. The original versons released back in 2010, were all originally released in atrocious packaging that warped the discs. (Stuff like the revived Outer Limits, Andromeda, Earth: Final Conflict, Psi Factor, FX, etc ...).

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/topic/322475-universal-studios-warner-brothers-reissued-dvd-sets/page-11#entry4103296

Though unfortunately, Robocop the series has not been re-released yet in generic viva multidisc dvd cases by Alliance/E-one.
