Hello,

I am trying to add a Sound Bar to my at-home gaming/movie experience. I currently have an Xbox360, Blu-Ray, and Wii that all need to connect with both the television and this new sound bar.

The people at BestBuy said that I needed a receiver to make it all work, so I purchased one but I cannot get the sound to come out of the Sound Bar, nor do I know where/how to connect the Sound Bar to the receiver. The video works, but I cannot figure out how to make the sound work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung Series 4 Television
Pioneer VSX-824-K Receiver
Insignia NS-SB314 Sound Bar

I am going to attach as many pictures that I can to see if that helps. I appreciate any help at all. My apologies but I couldn't find a picture of the television.

For yours it looks like you will hook up all your components (Xbox, Wii, BD) using hdmi to the reciever, then make sure your tv has an optical out port and you will just use an optical cable from the optical out on the tv to the optical in port on the sound bar

Return the AVR. Not even remotely necessary.(and no reason, ever, to even attempt this)Connect your sources to the TV.Connect its audio out to the sound bar. Assuming it has one...cause every year of every size Samsung 4 series has been exactly the same........

Thank you for your comments thus far. I cannot see to find an outport on the television for either optical or RCA. Should there be an aux port on there as well?

Have no clue. Cause you haven't given us a model number. On some Samsung they switched to a combi mini-jack/mini-toslink. We have to download and read the manual for your set...to tell you.

If this is a e420 or EH4003, you are SOL.Those don't have any audio outputs, not even a headphone jack.Which means you can't even use any soundbar, at all.In which case. You keep the AVR and buy 5 speakers and a subwoofer. Or just 2 speakers.
