I need help on deciding what subwoofer to buy. I already have a Onkyo SKW204 and I was thinking about buying another to complete my 7.2 system. My other option is to buy a Bic Acoustech PL-200 and have this as my only sub. Opinions?

That's not a fair contest. The Onkyo doesn't stand a chance.

Given the choice of 2 Onkyo's or one Bic, I'd go for the Bic. You will notice the difference. The amp is better, the driver is better, and it has much more power.

Avoid Bose. They are typically overpriced and full of promises they do not deliver on. If you really want a step up from the BIC, you will have to look at companies like SVS.

For the money, the BIC is hard to beat.*

*I have no direct experience with the BIC - I am going by specs and reputation from home theater enthusiasts.

Bose doesn't even call them subwoofers. They call them bass modules. That should tell you something.

My brother has a BIC 1220. Only way to get a better value then a BIC subwoofer these days is to stumble accross a used Paradigm or HSU on craigslist. Or, build a better one yourself.
