There is a guy on Ebay selling a pair each of Altec Lansing Model* 85 and 95 for roughly $450, if you bought both. Complete with the original boxes. There is a Model 44 center to go with those from another seller. It won't hit $50.No current $500 speaker set will touch these in sound(subjective, but one of my first 5.0 sets were 100, 96 and a center. Stupid me sold them when I moved from Indy. They were on Ebay, 4 years ago, for less than 5 hours. Three people emailed me. I had the 5 priced at $600) or build quality(these are not vinyl covered MDF crap).Hopefully someone here takes them.*Model was the series name.

If anybody cares. These are Sparkomatic era. Yes, that Sparkomatic. However, Sparkomatic had to adhere to construction/quality standards set by Gulton(owners of Altec Pro gear at the time). Meaning...the drivers were made with leading edge materials. The woofer/midrange construction is mimicked in everything now. These were the first "mass market" poly-carbon woofers. And lowly(low end??) company making good stuff was not "new". Mitsubishi sold their 26" and under manufacturing to Goldstar to finance the 40" tube(ironically, these were the same era).
