I think it was a made for TV movie, so hopefully it's not out of place on here.

I keep hoping year after year to see this on DVD. I dug out my homemade copy I recorded from Fox Movie Channel in 2009 last night and watched it. It's not as good as the original obviously, but for the 70's, it was certainly an all star cast.

It's funny how things you never noticed on a smaller TV you now notice. My player upgrades to 1080, so the actual resolution wasn't as big of a deal, but the condition of the movie itself was terrible. It is in obvious need of being cleaned up as there are specks and scratches throughout. It almost looked as if it had been transferred to video tape as I noticed what appeared to be video artifacts that wouldn't have come from film.

I wish Fox would do this movie justice and put it out with some minimal cleanup. It won't happen this year, but I wonder if it's too much to hope for next year?

Yes, this was a TV movie from 1973, starring Sebastian Cabot (Mr. French on Family Affair) as St Nick. I remember watching it, I believe it was on CBS.

There is a DVD showing up online....but it may be a bootleg:

Fox must not care much about it, as the full-version is also on YouTube:

Actually, that one has been shaved by about 12 minutes. My DVD runs 1 hour and 38 minutes as opposed to 1 hour and 26 minutes. Still, it's good for anyone who hasn't seen it to get a feel for it.

Considering they are selling several shows that have not seen an official release.....
