Hey everyone, this is Zack, Scott's son, writing you all under my father's account. My dad passed away suddenly Friday afternoon. Believe it was heart related. I know he was an active member here, so I wanted to let you know. My apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I know he had some close friends here who I think should know.

Zack

Oh Zack. I am at a loss. It was VERY thoughtful of you to let us know.

You and your family will be in my family's prayers.

Scott was a very good friend here at the Home Theater Forum.

I remember first contacting him about my love of music and how I took immediate notice of his HTF UserID (Ockeghem) and how I had grown to come to love the music of Des Prez and Ockeghem when I was in college. Your dad and I were born just a year apart. We shared many common passions: baseball among them...and music...old TV shows...and our families.

God be with you all at this time. Scott will be greatly, greatly missed here.

Scott was one of the warmest and most welcoming people I have ever known, online or otherwise. He was incisive and intelligent, knowledgeable on a whole list of subjects, but it was his heart rather than his intellect that showed through in every post. He brightened many of my days with his kind humor.Zack, you should also know how proud he was of you and your siblings, and how much joy you brought him. He spoke of you fondly and often in these message boards and in our private communications. It has been a privilege to know him, and I will miss him very much. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I got to know your dad a bit through his enthusiastic participation in the TV forum here. Much like the non-virtual world, he was a regular presence whom you kept an eye out for. Just from what he's posted here, I know his kids were at the center of his thoughts and his world. Just in the past couple weeks he'd been getting into "The Walking Dead", and your sister's interest was the driving force behind that. Film, television, and especially music, his passions always seemed to translate into anecdotes about you and your siblings.

Thank you so much for letting us know; please let us know if there's anything we can do for you.

Very sad to learn this news.

Though we only knew your father virtually, we consider everyone
as part of a family here nonetheless.

My deepest condolences.
