Hi all,I apologize if the answers to my questions are found elsewhere. I am starting my home theater in a pretty large space in my basement. I am by no means rich, so I am hoping that my purchases will last many years. For the projector, I am thinking the BenQmh680http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GUEYNF8/ref=mp_s_a_1_44?qid=1417389627&sr=8-44&pi=AC_SX200_QL40For lumas, 3d, clarity, and also based on positive reviews. For sound, I am thinking the VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakershttp://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CDIK908/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1417391306&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40#I haven't found a soundbar that is as big (54 inch), and that is 5.1Here is my big problem:The sound bar has optical and HDMI inputs, but it doesn't have a pass through HDMI output. Also, hardly any BR players seem to have optical outputs, much less two HDMI - one for the audio and one for Video. I have to run direct into the Vizeo bar from the source I have read, or I wont get genuine 5.1. What attracts me to the Vizeo is also the low price, combined with it being one of the only if not the only sound bar that does 5.1 surround. (I did the 7.1 surround thing with an Onkyo with the cables and wires and I just cannot go through that again!)So any input would be welcome. I guess I am looking for any and all suggestions for a BR player that can do optical or any other ideas. Thank you!

Have a large basement with a projector --- and want a sound bar.

I would recommend getting something with an actual receiver in it - then you can hook your sources to the receiver, and the output to the projector - problem solved and would sound better.

$350 will get you a denon/BA sound system - that would solve your sound issue - and be upgradeable - at a decent price...

-- I read through several reviews from people who bought that thing - but there was no mention on how to get the thing hooked up, other than by optical cable.

Sounds like your married to that Vizio unit so why don't you just use the digital coax input on it to get your Blu-Ray hooked up? I'm thinking most Blu-Ray players still have a Digital Coax so check to see if yours has one.

Thanks Martino. That looks like a nice system. Not really married to it, just dont want to deal with all the hookups and cables and pink noise channel checks, etc. I could run digital coax but I just want a better sound. Maybe I can settle for something in the middle with a BR player with both HDMI and Optical outputs.

Digital Coax is digital...it's ones and zeros. This is the same as an optical cable or an HDMI. I'm not sure I understand the better sound part?

I had just heard that optical was the lesser of HDMI, with HDMI being the best supporting the BR audio layering
