Hi guys, I have a panasonic sa-xr55 running in 7.1. I have another panasonic sa-ht95 reciever that I want to use as a amp for a homemade vibration transducer on my chair. Dummy question, but how do you connect the second amp/reciever to the sa-xr55?

You can't.

In order to use external amplification, you need a line-level output for each channel of audio you wish to amplify. These outputs are referred to as "pre-outs" because they output the signal BEFORE it's been amplified.

According to the documentation online, the XR55 only has a subwoofer preout (the little RCA connection marked 'Subwoofer' in the lower left corner. Again - since the subwoofer is self-powered and does its own amplification, it uses a "pre-out" audio signal from the receiver.

A full (or expanded) set of pre-outs is a feature typically found on mid- to upper-level model receivers.

EDIT:
Actually, I suppose maybe you could if you only used the subwoofer preout from your XR55. You could split the output from the XR55 - one still goes to your subwoofer, the other end could be split again and input as L/R to the analog stereo audio input on the other Panny.

However, looking at the specs for the HT-95 HTiB system, it may well be asking too much of that system to do anything of merit since it is pretty low powered. There are likely much better approaches to accomplish what you're trying to do... hopefully other members will chime in.

Thanks for your info. I think splitting the SW output might work. Crappy amp, if it doesn't give me the oomph I want, out the door it goes.
