The Beverly Hillbillies S4 had incidental music replaced with some kind of generic music. Also according to a reviewer on Amazon:

Actually I have already found there is an edit in the episode of "Hoedown a-GoGo". The band (The Enemy's led by Cory Wells, later of The Three Dog Night) play a small section of Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison. That is edited out, because as always, the music rights are too expensive they say to pay for to include on the DVD. There is a clip of this on YouTube heading of 'The Enemys on "The Beverly Hillbillies" '. Not sure about any other edits though.
I haven't actually looked at it again to make sure, but if so, it is noteworthy.

I'm confused. If this was meant to be lists of TV comedies that have been released so far on Region 1 DVDs, why are shows with no releases (such as Amen and The Ropers) being included? Then it just becomes a list of all TV comedies.

(Also, while there were occasional moments of humor, I never knew Degrassi was considered a comedy; but I suppose that's subjective.)

These lists were originally created with the intent of listing all my favorite series (as well as some that I have never seen but would like to like The Fugitive & The Six MIllion Dollar Man). Due to some health issues and an inability to find work, I found myself with free time that I decided to devote to one of my favourite hobbies- TV on DVD! I ended up posting the lists on a TV forum based here in Canada that I am a member of and I eventually expanded it bit by bit to include other shows. The shows with no releases are a mix of shows I like and other notable sitcoms that were popular in their day- I can remove them if you like?!
(Also, while there were occasional moments of humor, I never knew Degrassi was considered a comedy; but I suppose that's subjective.)
Thanks for pointing that out, that is a mistake on my part. :P

Yeah, I don't understand the list of releases but then it includes shows that haven't been released.

Thanks, it has been added to the list.
Timeless released the Mickey Rooney Show - Hey Mulligan in a box set , but it was incomplete .Only 30 of 33 episodes.

Likewise My Little Margie and I married Joan have had incomplete releases through VCI Entertainment .

The Buddy Hackett /Carol Burnette sitcom Stanley has been released as a mail order only item from the Buddy Hackett site.

What your list shows is that 1950's early 1960's sitcoms are underrepresented on DVD.

Nick,

Family Ties and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch both have music replacement.

Would you enlighten me on what the music edits are on Frasier? Are you basing it on "Daphne's Room" from the R2 release? There wasn't a notation for syndicated episodes being used... so no problems there?

Actually, I appreciate having the shows listed that have no release, because it reminded me of some that had slipped my mind.

In the 1970s section, you can add Bridget Loves Bernie, which is available on demand from Sony (through amazon).

Then use this link to TV Comedy. It has all countries but the link is to the US listing.

Well, while we're making corrections, I'll add this one: although it was released in three sets, The Addams Family only had two seasons, not three.

The following is a list of all sitcoms and comedy series from the 50s, 60s and 70s that have been released on DVD in Region 1:
You might want to add a 1940's category since The Life of Riley is a comedy. The season which aired on NBC from October 4, 1949 to March 28, 1950 (According to Wikipedia), is on DVD in its entirety. This incarnation of the show starred Jackie Gleason.

The popular William Bendix seasons that aired later in the 1950's are sadly absent from DVD and represent one of the glaring absences for classic tv on DVD.

Petticoat Junction (Seasons 1-3 of 7, Paramount)

Perhaps it's too minor for you, but season 3 of Petticoat Junction has a bit of music replacement.

The Green Acres music that was utilized in the background when that show's stars crossed over several times during the course of this season was largely eliminated, although it seemed to be intact in one episode (I think it's the one where Betty Jo accompanys Mrs Douglas to NYC).

It's pretty awful sounding though the few times they subject the viewer to it and I think is worth mentioning, since it's so obviously incorrect.
