These are serious in-wall speakers. MSRP was $399 each. I bought them off ebay earlier this year for use in my back bedroom turned family room and it took 5 MB Quart Vera's (msrp $2250-$2500 each/pr-about $7500 worth) to change my mind. These are the dual 6 1/2" driver versions and are basically brand new and haven't been installed yet. I did open three of the boxes just out of curiosity and boyish excitement.
These are unique in that you can change them from horizontal to vertical mount by switching a plug-in from one spot to the other in the crossover (see photo's).
I'm a big fan of this Avant series MS speakers. Excellent mid-range and doesn't have that "metal' tweeter sound even though they are. Highly recommended.
I'll sell three for $375 or all 5 for $500 + shipping, which might be expensive due to size and quantity.
25" x 14" x 8" @ 18 lbs each. I suppose I could tape 3 and 2 of them together to perhaps reduce shipping charges?
It's tough to find anything on the net about the AW162's. Too bad Mordaunt-Short (and MB Quart) wasn't distributed very well in the US.
Thanks for looking. Gene
